Egg Donation Program
Many women, even when they are of childbearing age, have some alteration in the ovaries that prevents them from producing eggs normally and find it difficult to conceive. The ovum donation program of the Oyala Gynecology and Fertility Center is a technique that allows women or couples with this problem to achieve their goal, to have a child. The egg donation technique is indicated in the following cases:
Women with ovarian problems: primary or premature ovarian failure.
Women with ovarian dysfunction and loss of ovular quality.
Women with inherited diseases that can be transmitted to the offspring and that cannot be detected by Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis techniques.
Women who have had repeated failure of In Vitro Fertilization with their own eggs.
Women with severe endometriosis.
Women older than 43 years, because from this age the pregnancy rate drops significantly.
Cases of repeated abortions.
Women who suffer from any disease that contraindicates ovarian stimulation.
The best option to get pregnant in these cases is to use ovules from a donor, young, healthy and previously selected, to fertilize them with the couple's sperm. It is a faster and simpler technique for the patient than an In Vitro Fertilization, since ovarian stimulation is performed on the donor. The rest of the steps to follow are the same as in a conventional IVF. You can check the complete steps of an IVF treatment with donor eggs.
Why Oyala Gynecology and Fertility Center?
At the Oyala Fertility Center we make an exhaustive selection of our donors. For the safety of our patients, egg donors must meet a series of requirements and pass rigorous tests, in order to ensure that the donated eggs are of optimum quality. The requirements that our donors meet are:
Be between 18 and 35 years old. 60% of donors from the Oyala Fertility Center are university students.
Have a normal ovarian function.
Have positive results in the study of fertility that is performed, which includes the following points: Vaginal Ecosonogram, gynecological examination, chromosomal study, complete hematology and rule out diseases such as AIDS, hepatitis, syphilis, genital herpes, rubella or toxoplasmosis.
Enjoy good physical and mental health.
Not suffer from malformations, genetic or congenital and hereditary diseases (neither the donor nor her close relatives).
In addition, factors of physical appearance (height, appearance, eye color, texture and color of hair, skin, race ...) are taken into account. These features are collected primarily to help select a donor related to the woman receiving the donation.
How do we choose the donor in the egg donation program?
In Oyala Fertility Center this aspect is essential and we carefully choose the most similar donor to each future mother. The egg donation program guarantees the maximum phenotypic (physical) and immunological similarity of the donor with you.
It is also important to note that the egg donor signs a consent, in accordance with Spanish law, in which he guarantees that he makes the donation voluntarily and anonymously, and will not try to know your identity or that of your future child at any time.
